  • I stir fried rice with pineapple, water chestnuts, raisins, soy sauce and sesame oil. I used it as a side dish with my Thai peanut chicken, it was YUMMY!


  • We like to use brown rice and barley in equal portions...then add sauteed mushrooms, onions and red pepper. Goes well with any protein of your choice. (Using the barley lowers the per cup point value as barley is only 2 pts. per cup.)


  • I like Mexican rice, Sautee onion and a table spoon of finely chopped celery. Add rice and cook about 1 minute add water and for every cup of rice used add 1 cup salsa. Cook as directed and then serve hot when finished.


  • add dried cranberries, sauteed onions and sliced almonds to cooked brown rice.


  • Cook in broth and add sauteed vegetables.


  • Top with tomato sauce


  • Top with FF yogurt and dill combined and serve cold


  • Chop some onion and put it in a casserole dish with a little olive oil. Put it in 350 oven until onion is soft. Add chicken broth and rice(not instant) in appropriate portions-I usually do 1 to 1. Cover and bake for 20 minutes, stir and see if any more liquid needs to be added. Bake until rice is cooked through, salt and pepper to taste.


  • I make a version of fried rice that DH and I love. Prepare 4 servings of rice as directed. Add 1 small can(~8oz) mixed veggies and 1 small can of crushed pineapple (drained well). Mix well to heat veggies and serve. The pineapple adds a hint of sweetness and is delicious!


  • Combine Rice, finely diced green pepper and onion, and chicken broth, and some spray butter. Cook til tender. Adds zero points, so points will be same for the type of rice you're using.


  • i like to mince up onion, garlic, and red/yellow peppers. saute them up in a pan with some cooking spray, add in the water, rice and a bullion cube. always comes out great. if you want a little extra flavor, add in some hot sauce, soy sauce or even a little bbq sauce for flavor.


  • I like to add chopped dried fruit to brown rice when cooking. It is yummy! I get a mix at Sprouts that has mango, banana, apple, apricot...


  • I also found a great chicken and tomato bouillon in the spanish section of my grocery store!! Two of those in my rice and it is wonderful!!


  • Try using a combination of half broth, half salsa in place of water.


  • I love brown rice tossed with fresh chopped scallions...


  • I make a peliaf (sp) I take a couple teaspoons oil (good way to get it in) heat it in a sauce pan. Add chopped onion, minced garlic and let that cook a minute or two. Add the rice (I use Uncle Ben's brown rice, NOT the instant kind) stir that around to coat the rice then add chicken broth and cook according to the directions on the rice. When it's done I fluff it with a fork and add chopped fresh parsley, or any herb of your liking.


  • Add some salsa and FF cheese!


  • Try using chicken or beef base instead of broth. Its much more flavorful than plain broth. You can find it in the same aisle as the boullion cubes. I also like to add a little fresh chopped parsley and minced garlic in with the the base.
